Rather than stating the same standards for everyone to follow, it now recognizes that "one size does not fit all" and that people should choose the foods and amounts that are right for them. The site includes a tool to figure out the right requirements for you, as well as many articles, tools, publications and resources. This site contains a wealth of information that is valuable to everyone.
Menu Planner National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute This interactive menu planner is designed to guide daily food and meal choices based on one day's calorie allowance. It may be used in advance to plan a meal, or at the end of a day to add up total calories, as well as fat, and carbohydrates consumed. This site is very easy to use and is a great way to get a better understanding of what you are eating in a day.
Exercise and Physical Fitness MedLine This site provides comprehensive news, overviews, guides, diagrams and charts, and tips for all aspects of exercise and physical fitness, including nutrition and alternative therapies. There are also special sections for men and for women around exercise and fitness. The site is very easy to navigate and extremely thorough in its presentation of the various topics.
Dietary Guidelines for Americans HealthGov Dietary Guidelines for Americans is published jointly every 5 years by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Guidelines provide authoritative advice for people two years and older about how good dietary habits can promote health and reduce risk for major chronic diseases. The website includes press releases, publications, toolkits, webcasts, and additional resources.
